Patient Services Representative

About the Role Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service in a healthcare setting? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Services Associate to be the welcoming face of our clinic. In this crucial role, you will ensure a seamless, positive experience for our patients from the moment they walk through the doors until their visit is complete. You will balance patient interaction with important administrative duties, helping our clinic run smoothly and efficiently. What You Will Do Patient Registration & Check-In: Warmly greet patients, verify their identity, and accurately update demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record system. Scheduling & Care Coordination: Schedule new and return appointments, manage referrals, and coordinate lab or study visits while keeping referring providers and patient preferences in mind. Financial Processing: Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and account balances, securely processing payments and guiding patients toward financial assistance resources when needed. Administrative Operations: Actively manage daily work queues, resolve basic insurance eligibility edits, and maintain accurate medical records to prevent billing or patient safety issues. Patient Experience: Monitor the waiting room, communicate wait times, and provide compassionate, professional support to address any patient questions or concerns. Compliance & Privacy: Strictly safeguard sensitive patient information in adherence to HIPAA guidelines and all organizational safety regulations. What We Are Looking For Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 6 months in data entry. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, and standard clinic operations. Technical Skills: Solid basic computer proficiency and the ability to quickly navigate electronic health records and scheduling software. Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, exceptional phone etiquette, and the ability to interact tactfully and empathetically with the public. Work Style: Highly organized, capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment, and dedicated to working collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

salary: $21.32 - $21.33 per hour
