- Facility: Emergency Department at a leading regional hospital
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
- Start Date: October 20, 2025
- End Date: January 19, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights (2:45 PM – 3:15 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1640–$1680
- Unit Size: 101-bed emergency department
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
- Active, unencumbered RN license (Registered Nurse – North Carolina or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse
- Experience in Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume emergency department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (all prior to start); ENPC within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork skills and flexibility to float within all areas of the ED
- Ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback
- Commitment to patient-centered care, respectful communication, and positive patient experience
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including techs and unit clerks
- Operate advanced medical equipment (Baxter pumps, GE monitors)
- Document patient care using Cerner EMR system
- Float to all sections of the emergency department as needed
- Maintain accurate patient boards and communicate effectively with patients and families
- Follow hospital policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance standards
