TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Asheville, North Carolina, 28801!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 10 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Stepdown experience Telemetry experience Description: The primary patient population includes cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients. This includes open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and various vascular procedures. Patients may also present with overflow medical cardiology diagnoses such as heart failure, sepsis, and chest pain. The unit has 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds and approximately 100 staff. Patient ratios are 1:5 for RNs and 1:13 for PCTs. Equipment utilized includes Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts. The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner. Ideal candidates should have experience in managing epidurals, chest tubes, and tube feedings. Skills in IV medication management for cardiac gtts are required. Candidates should be team players and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential for this role. Weekends require a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week scheduling period.
