Reports To: Clinical Supervisor
Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt
Location: 100 Billingsley Rd
Work Hours: 8am-4:30pm

We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide person-centered, recovery-oriented services to individuals facing Mental Health and/or Substance Use challenges. In this role, you will serve as a role model, advocate, and mentor—sharing your lived experience to instill hope and empower individuals in their own recovery.
Key Responsibilities:Use your personal recovery journey to inspire and support individuals in treatment.
Provide peer support both at the agency and in the community.
Assist individuals in daily decision-making, building social skills, and accessing resources.
Facilitate peer-led support groups and wellness activities.
Encourage participation in community events and mutual aid groups.
Serve as an advocate for self-determination and personal growth.
Support crisis intervention efforts and help with day-to-day program activities (e.g., distributing hygiene items, assisting with meals).
Lead or co-lead WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) sessions.
Collaborate with program staff to model recovery values and build a culture of empowerment.
High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 2 years of direct healthcare experience (preferably in substance use disorder treatment).
Certification as a Peer Support Specialist (required).
Valid NC or SC Driver’s License .
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and electronic health records systems.
Passion for helping others and the ability to build trusting, respectful relationships.
