Accountant - Management Reporting (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Remote)

How you’ll contribute:

As an Accountant, you’ll be responsible for activities in support of coordination of the financial close at the enterprise level. Responsible for the company’s general ledger Chart of Values (COV) process, consolidation reviews, and related activities. This position works with other corporate departments and FIS.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Perform COV process activities include but are not limited to the following:
    • Develop and maintain COV request forms and documentation
    • Provide guidance to all users and act as a liaison between customers and FIS
    • Collate, review, and submit all COV requests including collecting proper documentation, approvals, and performing due diligence research for all request
  • Complete daily control and accuracy reviews to ensure deadlines and thresholds are met, including issue resolution and communications with internal partners when needed, for consolidations, eliminations, ledger inaccuracies, suspense reconciliation, and pending parked docs.
  • Support internal and external audits as required. Maintain process documentation.
  • Support other financial close activities as needed.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

We’re looking for people who have:

  • B.A./B.S. in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance.
  • Completion of/or progress towards CPA, MBA, or CMA a plus.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, insurance accounting, and US Statutory a plus.
  • Strong project, program, and change management skills.
  • Experience in coordination of financial close activities in a corporate environment.
  • Microsoft applications knowledge – Excel (advanced preferred), PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
  • SAP and BPC systems knowledge a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with associates at all levels, including senior management.
  • Ability to produce results and carry out initiatives independently.
  • Ability to work within tight time constraints and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills.

  • Compensation – Base salary ranging from $62,000.00 to $76,000.00 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
