We are recruiting a Controller for a well-established organization in the Raleigh market to lead and strengthen the accounting function. This role will take ownership of day-to-day financial operations while building the structure, processes, and reporting needed to support continued growth. Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute core accounting operations, including payables, receivables, and general ledger activity
• Manage all cash activity, banking functions, and account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy
• Lead end-to-end payroll processing and ensure compliance with all related filings and obligations
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Build and enhance financial reporting to provide clear, actionable insights to leadership
• Drive the annual budgeting process and implement more structured forecasting practices
• Partner cross-functionally to improve financial visibility and support operational decision-making
• Coordinate with external partners on reporting, compliance, and audit-related matters
• Oversee financial components of employee-related programs, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation
• Design and implement internal controls, policies, and scalable processes to support future growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA is required, as is experience with Non-Profit accounting
• 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a hands-on leadership role
• Demonstrated ability to build or improve processes, systems, and reporting within a growing environment
