Mechanical Engineer

Acara Solutions seeks a Mechanical Engineer for our client in McLeansville, NC.

• As a mechanical analysis engineer for Undersea Mission Systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the design and analysis of critical undersea hardware.
• Perform mechanical design and analysis for critical undersea hardware systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and refine product designs.
• Conduct structural and mechanical analysis using industry-standard tools.
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation efforts.
• Ensure designs meet applicable technical, government, and industry standards.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Technology or Mathematics with 2 years of experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with ANSYS and MATLAB analysis tools, and ability to train others on these tools.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Shock Grade B by analysis.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Master's Degree with 6 months of experience.
• Strong knowledge of material specifications and metallurgy.
• Proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards.
• Creative thinker capable of leading a team in the preparation of project design, testing, and prototype fabrication.
• Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.

Additional Information:

• Requires an active Secret Clearance.
