Description of Work

The duties for this position include the repair and construction of components necessary to keep the facility and surrounding property in proper working condition for the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents and staff. Included in the scope of work are 224,000 square foot main structure, nine 1,500 square foot cottages, 1080 interior doors, and 20 +/- acres of grounds.

Salary Range: $34,270.00 - $59,973.00

We are recruiting for two positions with this post. Your application will be considered for each position.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Repair and construction of components necessary to keep the facility in a proper working condition.

  • Cabinet making and hanging, carpentry work, masonry work, dry-wall installation, building partitions as needed, roofing, hanging doors and windows, building picture frames and other items for the comfort and well-being of the residents at this facility.

  • General maintenance duties, as assigned.

ABOUT BLACK MOUNTAIN NEURO-MEDICAL TREATMENT CENTER:
Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living.

We are a specialized long-term care facility focusing on maintaining quality of life and dignity for adults with neurocognitive or neurodevelopmental disorders with coexisting complex medical and behavioral needs whose level of support extends beyond that which can be provided in family or community living settings. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

DHHS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position.

Positions in the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities shall be subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal record background checks. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one (1) year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary Special Qualification may require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
