Category Manager Aluminum
The Category Manager is an industry subject matter expert within Cornerstone Building Brands and is responsible for creating and driving sourcing value for the Aluminum category. This person will collaborate with procurement business unit and functional leadership to generate ongoing value for Cornerstone Building Brands through category strategy management.
This position will align internal and external customer needs with marketplace opportunities to optimize the procurement value proposition. The Category Manager will also assist in driving continuous improvement of related supply chain processes throughout Cornerstone Building Brands. This role is expected to provide expertise to business leaders in planning and implementing supply chain strategies to achieve business goals and objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead creation and implementation of advanced category management strategies for assigned categories leveraging deep market expertise designed to anticipate enterprise-wide requirements while optimizing forecasted shifts in both supply markets industry trends and supplier economic cycles.
- Lead global market intelligence gathering and presentation assimilating information into actionable projects that drive value
- Strategically partner with team members business unit and functional leaders by providing subject matter expertise and best practice for sourcing opportunities.
- Lead the development and negotiation of contracts with new suppliers and/or renegotiate existing contracts to accomplish lowest total system cost and savings objectives. Deliver ongoing value improvements while driving competitive advantage.
- Execute savings tracking activities and report realized savings on a continuous basis. Develop savings pipeline to drive long term value generation in line with category strategy.
- Build and manage relationships with business unit teams to enable implementation of business strategies through team alignment facilitate a process to coordinate those goals and closely collaborate with teams to drive value through advanced sourcing levers.
- Demonstrates a strategic business mindset influential leadership organizational savvy presents an executive-level presence and balances multiple stakeholder interests simultaneously.
- Conduct spend analyses on categories and reporting supplier stratification supply market and category industry research.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier reviews in accordance with supplier performance program.
- Engage in ethical procurement practices which includes compliance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures as well as federal state and local regulations.
- Display leadership behaviors aligned with CBB values and success model to drive a culture that embodies safety teamwork innovation and integrity.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree strongly preferred. Preference in Business Supply Chain Finance Accounting Economics or equivalent work experience. MBA a plus.
- 8 or more years of supply chain experience required 5 of which requires experience in strategic sourcing preferably in a large manufacturing organization
- Experience with category management in aluminum preferred.
- Superior communication presentation and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Requires expertise in operating Microsoft Office programs.
- Requires the ability to lead a team and present and project a positive company image with vendors.
- Certifications preferred but not required: CPSM PMP Six Sigma.
- Position requires light travel (probably not more than 30%) mostly to manufacturing plants.
- Expert knowledge in the aluminum market and industry inclusive of coil billet extrusions and roll-form products with a deep understanding of global supply chains as well as key market players. Active participant in industry associations and/or trade groups that expand industry knowledge.
Additional Information :
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110000-$130000 bonus medical dental vision benefits starting day 1 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30 hours per week.)
