Development Representative
A Development Representative will build relationships with donors, especially key donors, to broaden their vision and encourage their greater involvement with JAARS in support of Bible translation. Reps will contact individuals by telephone, in writing, or through a personal visit to thank them for financial support, as well as encouraging additional or new financial partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with JAARS financial partners through regular personal contacts with an emphasis on major donors.
- Call, write, and visit donors to express appreciation for their financial gifts
- Present opportunities to the donors for their involvement
- Maintain biographical and interest information to assist in developing relationships and to better match donors with project funding needs.
- Stay up to date on solutions funding needs and the impact these projects will have on Bible translation.
Position Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or related experience that is applicable to the areas of fundraising, donation building, development, direct or indirect sales, marketing or promotion
- Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills that inspire engagement and connection, and that foster enduring trust with our donation partner community
- Ability to tell the Bible translation story to people across all multi-generational segments and multicultural communities
- Goal/outcome orientation…a bias for action, and a drive for closure
- Proficiency and confidence in using technology, systems, or applications
- Experience working in or for faith-based or nonprofit organizations, and previous multicultural experience is preferred
- Impassioned calling for Bible translation with the ability to promote this calling in a compelling experience
