Outside Plant (OSP) Field Supervisor - Fiber Optic Installation Company

Job Summary

3 Positions in Huntersville, NC and Surrounding Areas

This position involves leading and overseeing fiber optic network installation and maintenance projects. The OSP Field Supervisor must effectively manage underground construction teams, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate and safe construction while prioritizing safety and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Project Management & Execution: Oversee daily construction activities, inspect underground installations for quality and adherence to specifications, schedule projects, allocate resources, monitor progress, and approve completed work.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce company safety practices and industry standards, conduct safety audits, respond to utility strikes, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and direct personnel, including performance development, training, and conflict resolution.
• Documentation & Reporting: Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
• Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, ensure accurate "as-built" documentation, and manage inventory and equipment.
• Strong project management, communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Not required but encouraged:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with related certifications or technical training preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in outside plant construction, preferably in FTTH, with supervisory experience preferred.
• A strong knowledge of outside plant networks, fiber optic architectures, and related infrastructure, along with familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
• Proficiency in computer programs and testing equipment, including Office 365.
• The ability to work independently, perform field inspections, and possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• The ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends, overtime and on-call duty, as required, is needed.

· Bilingual is a plus
