Superintendent Commercial & Healthcare Construction (Ground-Up & Renovation)
Position Overview
Were seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead the execution of commercial and healthcare construction projects from the ground up through complex renovations and facility upgrades. The ideal candidate will provide on-site leadership, manage field operations, and coordinate all project activities to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.
This role requires experience working in both occupied healthcare environments and large-scale commercial construction sites. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial construction, including healthcare or medical facility projects
Proven success overseeing both ground-up and renovation projects
OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
Preferred:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
Experience with large-scale commercial structures, tilt-wall, or industrial projects
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Familiarity with AHCA, ICRA, and healthcare-specific construction requirements
Core Responsibilities
Preconstruction & Planning
Collaborate with project management and estimating teams during budgeting, scheduling, and preconstruction phases
Develop detailed logistics, phasing, and safety plans tailored to each project
Conduct kickoff and coordination meetings with subcontractors and vendors
Verify that manpower, materials, and equipment align with project goals
Construction Oversight
Lead field operations from mobilization through final completion
Manage all aspects of ground-up healthcare and commercial construction , including expansions and interior build-outs
Supervise renovation activities in occupied medical environments , ensuring infection control and minimal disruption
Coordinate subcontractors, inspections, and daily reporting through project management platforms
Ensure compliance with project drawings, submittals, and quality standards
Safety & Quality Management
Promote a safety-first culture and enforce compliance with OSHA standards
Conduct daily jobsite inspections and regular safety meetings
Implement and oversee QA/QC programs to ensure craftsmanship and accuracy
Maintain clean, organized, and compliant worksites
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and mentor Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and Field Engineers
Lead weekly coordination meetings to align project priorities
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-driven culture across all project teams
Closeout & Handover
Oversee project completion, punch list, and turnover documentation
Coordinate commissioning, final inspections, and owner training sessions
Ensure timely and accurate closeout deliverables
Skills & Attributes
Strong leadership and communication skills across all levels of a project team
Deep knowledge of commercial and healthcare construction processes
Proven ability to manage both new construction and renovation projects simultaneously
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to problem-solve effectively under pressure
Proficient in digital project management tools and construction technology
Work Environment
Must be willing to travel regionally to project sites as required
Position involves on-site work in active construction and healthcare environments
Exposure to standard construction conditions including varying weather and site activity
