Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week guaranteed, 13-26 week contracts available
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Floating required as needed with potential to float every shift
• Weekend requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts (every other weekend)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Preferred certification: NIH
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring required
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, and Sheath Removal experience required
• Experience with accessing ports, blood product administration, central line/PICC line management required
• Cardiac drip titration experience with Diltiazem and Amiodarone required
• Must wear navy scrubs (not provided)
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Work with cardiac patients including CHF, arrhythmias, and post cardiac cath patients
• Perform special procedures including cardiac drips, sheath pulls, TR bands, and Femstop
• Use Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems
• Self-scheduling based on unit needs
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week
• May be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events

Facility:

This regional medical center operates a comprehensive cardiac telemetry unit that monitors 42 patients daily across 43 beds. The facility provides specialized cardiac care including pre and post cardiac catheterization procedures, cardiac surgery support, and advanced cardiac monitoring. The unit offers interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The medical center maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes advanced technology including EPIC charting system and Pyxis medication management.
