Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to join our technical applications team. This role supports lab operations and technical service projects across multiple market segments within the construction solutions and nonwovens industries. You’ll collaborate with chemists, technical specialists, and team leaders to support customer-focused innovation and provide technical solutions through laboratory experimentation.
Job Description
- Provide technical applications support for internal and external customers in the Construction and Nonwovens industries.
- Plan and perform laboratory work, including the formulation and testing of water-based binders and related technologies.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of products and solutions to meet customer and industry needs.
- Collaborate with technical specialists, chemists, and cross-functional teams in R&D, Sales, and Marketing.
- Conduct testing, analyze data, and communicate results and next steps clearly to stakeholders.
- Maintain lab safety standards and follow EH&S protocols, ISO procedures, and 5S practices.
- Contribute to writing and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Stay informed on industry trends, testing methods, and material innovations.
- Shift: 8: 30am - 5pm
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of dispersion and resin chemistry
- Hands-on laboratory skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to analyze results, solve problems, and clearly communicate outcomes and recommendations
- Effective both independently and in team environments
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Experience in formulation and application testing of water-based binders
- Familiarity with Building Envelope, Construction Adhesives, and/or Nonwovens industries
- Previous work in a technical service or customer support lab setting
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field with 0–4 years of relevant lab/industrial experience
- High School diploma with 4–8 years of relevant laboratory experience
Additional Requirements
- Operates in a laboratory environment with adherence to EH&S and ISO quality standards
- Maintains equipment and workspace according to 5S policies
- Collaborates regularly with technical staff and cross-functional departments
