• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Travel Registered Nurse / Travel RN
• Assignment Type: 13-week Travel Contract (Travel Nursing Assignment)
• Location: Hickory, North Carolina 28602 – Hickory, NC travel nursing jobs; North Carolina nursing jobs
• Unit: Emergency Department (ED / ER)
• Shift: Nights – 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); option to flex to 4x12s
• Hours per Week: 36 (flex option to 48)
• Duration: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Minimum every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Openings: 2 Travel Nurse positions
• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• EMR / Charting: Meditech experience preferred (Meditech EMR)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (must be at least pending with ETA clearly stated)
• Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Department / ER RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required (Travel Nurse / Travel RN)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA)
• CPI/CIC certification preferred (can be obtained onsite if assignment extends beyond 3 months)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Clinical skills: triage, IV starts, phlebotomy, blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, isolation precautions/PPE, emergency interventions

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ER / ED)
• Perform triage, rapid assessment, and emergency interventions for a wide range of acute conditions
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products per orders; monitor patient response
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; initiate appropriate emergency protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Document care accurately and timely in Meditech EMR (or similar systems)
• Follow infection control, PPE protocols, and ED safety guidelines
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during high-stress situations
