Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Apex, NC 27502
Pay Rate: $74.87 per hour
Schedule: 32–40 hours per week (includes every other weekend)
Job Type: 5-Month Contract to Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work in collaboration with a dedicated clinical care team to provide evidence-based care to a panel of patients. The clinical care team works with the provider daily to drive improved outcomes for patients through accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health counseling, and disposition planning.

This role reports directly to the Practice Manager and requires the ability to practice autonomously while collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

All positions are safety sensitive .

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Provide primary and family evidence-based care , including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of health conditions
• Perform routine examinations and diagnostic testing
• Deliver patient education on healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention
• Manage chronic conditions and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
• Conduct health screenings and wellness assessments

Patient Care & Clinic Operations

• Handle patient appointments and ensure positive health outcomes
• Conduct patient follow-ups and coordinate treatment plans
• Encourage patient participation in their healthcare decisions

Administrative Responsibilities

• Open and close clinic operations
• Maintain inventory and clinic cleanliness
• Verify insurance coverage and collect patient payments
• Document patient encounters in the Electronic Medical System (EMS)

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
• Current National Board Certification
• Active NP license in the state of North Carolina
• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC
• Ability to obtain DEA registration during onboarding
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with clinical teams
• Proficiency with health information technology and electronic medical records

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent primary care experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a family medicine or primary care practice
• Working knowledge of quality measurement in chronic disease management

(Candidates without primary care experience must successfully complete the primary care training program.)

Schedule & Work Environment

• 32–40 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Possible holiday rotation
• Hours of operation:
• • Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Position may require floating to nearby clinics
