River Run Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team!

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant who is reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn . We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a Fear-Free mindset , and the ability to read and respond to our patients’ body language — someone who already knows the job but is excited to grow within our practice and help us continue delivering exceptional care.

In this role, you will:

• Assist with patient preparation and recovery during surgical and dental procedures
• Support the exam room workflow by assisting with outpatient care, patient handling, and appointment prep
• Maintain detailed medical records to support accurate patient care
• Perform radiology, phlebotomy, and lab sample collection with precision and compassion
• Communicate with clients during check-ins, treatment reviews, and discharges with empathy and clarity
• Anticipate the needs of your team to maintain efficiency and uphold the highest standards of patient care

Schedule: This is a flexible position (open to either Full-Time or Part-Time), with a 4x10 or 3x10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday - NO WEEKENDS!

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

• Compensation: $18 - $23 per hour , for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 2+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting is required
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to learning
• Proficiency in:
  • Surgical setup and assisting
  • Phlebotomy and SQ injections
  • Laboratory sample collection
  • Inpatient care
  • Exam/outpatient support
