Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Henderson, North Carolina (zip 27536)
• Healthcare Setting: Med/Surg Unit (48 beds)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Hours per Week: 36 (12-hour shifts)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Yes
• Electronic Health Record: Paragon
• Scrub Color: Blue/Black
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,730–$1,770

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification (required)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Strong attendance and punctuality record
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work holiday rotations and every other weekend
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Henderson, NC to qualify as a travel nurse

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to adult and geriatric populations in a 48-bed Med/Surg unit
• Manage patient ratios up to 1:6
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using Paragon EHR
• Float to other hospital units as needed (rare)
• Maintain professional appearance (blue/black scrubs required)
• Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations
