About the Role

Carolina Outreach is seeking a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Therapist to join our team in Wilson, North Carolina . In this role, you will provide individual and group substance use counseling , crisis support, and treatment planning to individuals working toward recovery.

Provide Clinical Substance Use Treatment

• Deliver individual and group substance use disorder counseling using evidence-based approaches.

• Support clients in developing skills for recovery, relapse prevention, and long-term stability .

• Provide crisis support and intervention when needed.

Treatment Planning & Care Coordination

• Develop and maintain Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) that reflect each client’s treatment goals.

• Monitor progress and revise treatment plans as needed .

• Coordinate services with families, community partners, and other providers .

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation , including:

  • Service notes

  • Treatment plans

  • Progress updates

• Ensure services are authorized and compliant with program requirements .

Client Advocacy

• Advocate for clients and families within the community.

• Support connections to natural supports, recovery resources, and community services .

Additional Responsibilities (May Include)

DWI Services

• Conduct DWI assessments

• Facilitate DWI education and treatment groups

• Provide individual DWI counseling sessions

• Complete and submit DMV Form 508 documentation

• Ensure all required fees and documentation are complete prior to submission

Additional duties may be assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a Substance Use Disorder Counselor .

Compensation

This role is compensated on a salaried basis, providing consistent earnings aligned with the responsibilities and expectations of the position.

• Compensation: $52,083 - $66,880
• This position is eligible for a $3,000 Sign on bonus

Placement within the range is based on licensure level, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Collaborate with care teams as needed
• Maintain compliance with all clinical and regulatory standards
• Participate in supervision (if applicable based on licensure level)

Position Qualifications.

• Education: Master's degree in Pyschology, social work or counseling.
• Licensure: Must hold a LCAS/A in NC.
