Junior Accountant

Accentuate Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant for our client in Raleigh, NC 27617. This role is ideal for a college graduate with 2–3 years of accounting experience who is looking to build a strong foundation in general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations and assist with financial accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports
• Review transactions for accuracy and proper accounting treatment
• Help ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls
• Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues
• Perform ad hoc accounting and financial analysis as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
• QuickBooks experience required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Internship or public accounting experience
• Exposure to month-end close processes
• Experience in a corporate accounting environment
