Irrigation Technician

Position Overview

This dual-role position is responsible for:

1. Irrigation Service & Repairs – Diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and optimizing residential and commercial irrigation systems.

2. Shop & Equipment Management – Overseeing the organization, maintenance, and readiness of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

You will play a key role in ensuring our clients’ systems perform reliably and our crews have safe, well-maintained equipment ready for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Irrigation Service Technician Duties

• Diagnose and repair irrigation systems, including controllers, valves, wiring, and lateral lines

• Perform system start-ups, winterizations, and inspections

• Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic issues

• Identify efficiency improvements and water-saving opportunities

• Communicate clearly with clients regarding repairs and recommendations

• Document work performed and materials used

Shop & Equipment Manager Duties

• Oversee maintenance schedules for company vehicles and equipment

• Maintain organized shop layout and inventory systems

• Track tool and equipment usage and condition

• Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance

• Ensure crews leave daily with fully operational equipment

• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional shop environment

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has irrigation service experience (minimum 2–3 years preferred)

• Possesses strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

• Is highly organized and systems-oriented

• Takes ownership and responsibility seriously

• Demonstrates leadership and accountability

• Communicates professionally with clients and team members

• Holds a valid driver’s license (clean driving record preferred)

Bonus if you have:

• Backflow certification

• Equipment maintenance or small engine repair experience

• Experience managing inventory or shop systems
