Cape Fear Family Medical Care is a division of the Raleigh-Durham Medical Group (RDMG) which is an organization comprised of several highly esteemed practices in the Raleigh & Fayetteville areas & provides the highest quality care to patients of all ages.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient environments. This position requires a strong understanding of medical-surgical practices, geriatrics, and internal medicine, as well as proficiency in coding and patient management.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare patients for X-Ray and other diagnostic tests.
• Record patient histories and vital signs accurately.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms.
• Manage patient records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions and treatment plans.
• Support urgent care needs by triaging patients effectively.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery.

Qualifications

• Certification or diploma in Medical Assisting or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in medical-surgical, inpatient, geriatrics, or urgent care settings is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of physiology and internal medicine practices.
• Familiarity with medical coding procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and communication.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is an advantage.
