About Fuller Land & Development

Since 2009, Fuller Land & Development has been a trusted partner in real estate development, brokerage, investment, and homebuilding throughout North Carolina’s Research Triangle region. Our company develops residential and commercial communities, brokers significant land transactions, leads equity investments through, and builds thoughtfully designed luxury homes across the Triangle.

We value individuals with a growth mindset who pursue excellence, embrace innovation, and thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

The CFO will work directly alongside ownership as a strategic business partner and operational leader, helping guide the financial direction and long-term growth of the company. This role will oversee financial strategy across land development, vertical construction, investment platforms, and homebuilding operations while helping scale the organization with disciplined systems, thoughtful leadership, and strong financial stewardship.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who combines high-level strategic thinking with a willingness to roll up their sleeves, solve problems, support the team, and help drive operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for land acquisition, development, construction, and investment opportunities

• Partner with ownership on strategic planning, capital allocation, acquisitions, dispositions, and company growth initiatives

• Manage banking and lender relationships, including lines of credit, development financing, construction loans, and permanent debt structures

• Lead equity capital structuring efforts and maintain strong investor relationships through transparency, responsiveness, and trust

• Establish and oversee company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance metrics across development and homebuilding divisions

• Drive financial discipline and operational accountability through accurate reporting, cost tracking, and data-driven decision-making

• Oversee construction draw processes, project financial controls, and risk management procedures

• Coordinate with tax and legal advisors to optimize financial and tax strategies across all business activities

• Evaluate and improve systems, reporting tools, and operational processes to support scalability and efficiency as the company continues to grow

• Support contract negotiations, joint venture structuring, and partnership agreements

• Ensure compliance with lender, investor, insurance, and regulatory requirements

• Build, mentor, and develop an accounting and finance team that reflects the company’s culture of collaboration, humility, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Foster strong cross-functional relationships with development, construction, sales, and operations teams to support alignment and execution

Professional Qualifications & Requirements

• 5–10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or investment leadership roles within homebuilding, real estate development, or real estate investment

• Strong understanding of residential development economics, project-level financial management, capital structures, and construction operations

• Experience with development financing, construction lending, equity structures, and investor reporting

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, entities, and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

• Bachelor’s Degree required; CPA, MBA, or similar designation preferred

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling required

• Experience with Procore, Buildertrend, or similar construction/accounting management systems preferred

• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead with integrity, sound judgment, professionalism, and emotional intelligence

• Authentic and grounded, with a high level of personal integrity and accountability

• Committed to doing the right thing and building long-term trust-based relationships

• Enthusiastic about growth, innovation, leadership, and helping build exceptional communities

• Possesses a growth mindset with a desire to continuously improve personally, professionally, and organizationally

• Driven by excellence with strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work

• Team-oriented leader who values collaboration, communication, humility, and servant leadership

• Adaptable and solutions-focused with the ability to navigate change and complexity effectively

• Hungry, humble, and emotionally intelligent

• Strong decision-maker capable of balancing strategic vision with practical execution

• Creative problem solver with persistence and follow-through
