We are currently looking for a Commercial HVAC apprentice TAB tech. TAB techs test HVAC systems to verify accurate installation. This would be a starting position with most tools and testing equipment being supplied by RAF. We work in and around the Charlotte area as far away as Winston-Salem and Spartanburg. Our scope includes some the largest environmental control systems in this area. We work in everything from churches and schools to the most secure areas of banks and power companies. Our normal shift is 7am-3:30pm but do have
after-hour and weekend responsibilities. We have wage benefits for off-shift schedules. This is a union position with union benefits.
There is a lot of self-paced training involved with mandatory testing. Pay increases are tied directly to your ability to successfully work through homework assignments and pass the associated test. The goal of an apprentice is to complete all sections of homework, pass associated tests, take NEBB cert. test and become a journeyman Test and Balance Technician. Again, it is self-paced and can take anywhere from 2-5 yrs to complete depending on your abilities and assertiveness. There are a couple of requirements to be considered. You must have unrestricted driving privileges, be a US citizen, have a clean criminal record, pass drug screening and can work unsupervised without checking your phone every 5 minutes.
