Job Summary
The Welder is responsible for processing raw materials and fabricating semi-complex parts used in manufacturing operations. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints, perform welding operations, and assemble components to meet required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG welding, some TIG welding, and the ability to safely operate hand and power tools in a production environment.
Job Description
- Perform FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) and GMAW (MIG) welding from basic blueprints and work instructions.
- Complete fabrication and assembly of parts while ensuring proper fit, alignment, calibration, and adjustment.
- Perform basic TIG welding as required.
- Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and specifications to meet product requirements.
- Operate hand and power tools, including grinders, chipping hammers, and other fabrication equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic equipment issues, including faulty consumables and machine-related concerns.
- Follow all workplace safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate work records, including entering labor hours into the ERP system.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support daily housekeeping/5S activities.
- Work effectively with supervisors, managers, and team members to meet production goals.
- Support customer expectations by producing quality products efficiently and consistently.
- Shift: Monday-Friday 5am-1:30pm with possible OT on Saturdays
Skills Required
- 1–3 years of welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience with FCAW and GMAW welding processes.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use production tracking systems.
- Ability to stand, sit, hear, and see for extended periods, up to 11 hours per day.
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors as needed.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat up to approximately 120°F and cold conditions down to approximately 0°F.
- May work in areas requiring hearing protection due to elevated noise levels.
- May be exposed to dust, dirt, and industrial work surfaces such as concrete.
- Must be comfortable operating computers and communicating via telephone.
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Pay Rate
- $20 - $26.50 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
