Paramedic Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Location: Asheville, North Carolina 28801
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Services (Ground Transport Unit)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,230–$1,270 per week
• Employment Type: Travel Paramedic
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: February 9, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 26 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (core days and rotating weekends)
• Uniform: Provided

Paramedic Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of full-time active pre-hospital paramedic or EMT experience
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• 2 years of satisfactory driving experience (insurance requirement)
• Current North Carolina Paramedic Certification (with ongoing CE requirements)
• Approval by Buncombe County Medical Director
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, PHTLS/ITLS, BLS
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in EMS, National Registry Paramedic, prior Buncombe County Medical Director boarding
• Flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented personality

Paramedic Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency medical care and patient transport for all age groups
• Perform clinical procedures including IV insertion and medication administration
• Operate and maintain medical equipment such as Zoll Cardiac Monitors and IV pumps
• Accurately document patient care using ESO EMR
• Transport patients via ambulance, wheelchair van, or BLS van as assigned
• Participate in behavioral health transports and float to additional units as needed
• Work at least one weekend per month as part of the rotating schedule
