Global Payroll Manager
Salary:
$115K,000-$125,000 base salary (depending on experience) + comprehensive benefits package.

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Global Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll operations across multiple international locations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. This role combines hands-on payroll processing with strategic oversight, serving as the organization's payroll subject matter expert and primary point of contact for global payroll operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, regional payroll teams, and third-party providers to streamline processes, support company growth, and ensure compliance with payroll regulations across multiple countries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee end-to-end global payroll operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing across all countries.
- Process bi-monthly payroll for the United States and Canada.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll issues, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely resolution.
- Partner with regional payroll teams and external payroll providers to maintain standardized global payroll practices.
- Maintain payroll calendars, funding schedules, and payroll deadlines while coordinating with Finance and Treasury.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and international payroll tax regulations, labor laws, statutory reporting, and filing requirements.
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement payroll process updates to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Support internal and external payroll audits by providing documentation, reports, and audit support.
- Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and People Operations to ensure accurate payroll data for new hires, promotions, compensation changes, terminations, and leave administration.
- Partner with HR leadership on payroll compliance, policy interpretation, and employee payroll inquiries.
- Manage and optimize payroll systems, including ADP and Dayforce/Ceridian, while supporting system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
- Identify automation opportunities and implement process improvements to increase payroll efficiency and data accuracy.
- Develop, document, and maintain payroll standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls.
- Prepare payroll reports, analyze payroll metrics, reconcile payroll data, and support general ledger activities.
- Assist with payroll integration efforts related to acquisitions, business expansion, and new country implementations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Legal, IT, and external vendors to support payroll initiatives and organizational growth.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive payroll experience, including at least 4 years supporting global or multi-country payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of U.S., Canadian, and international payroll compliance, tax regulations, and labor laws.
- Hands-on experience with ADP (GlobalView, Workforce Now, or similar) and Ceridian Dayforce.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting, journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and payroll reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for payroll analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Experience partnering with HR, Finance, Legal, and external payroll vendors.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential information.
- Experience supporting payroll process improvements, automation initiatives, and system implementations.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, BambooHR, or similar is a plus.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, new country payroll implementations, and workforce expansion initiatives is preferred.
- Knowledge of equity compensation payroll taxation is a plus.
