Attachments Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Attachments Technician to join our Greensboro Burnt Poplar yard team. This role is critical to ensuring the performance and safety of our equipment attachments, including hydraulic breakers, shears, grapples, and other specialized tools used in demolition and material handling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of attachments for wear, damage, and operational readiness.

• Rebuilding & Repairing: Disassemble, rebuild, and repair hydraulic and mechanical components to restore functionality and extend service life. Perform welding and fabrication of worn or damaged components.

• Inventory Tracking: Maintain accurate records of attachment inventory, including usage, condition, and location.

• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance and assist in developing service protocols to minimize downtime.

• Documentation: Complete service logs, inspection reports, and inventory updates using digital and paper-based systems.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with yard managers, equipment operators, and mechanics to ensure attachments are properly matched and maintained.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years heavy equipment maintenance or field service

• Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Experience with various heavy equipment brands and attachment types

• Ability to read technical manuals and interpret schematics

• Familiarity with inventory systems and basic computer skills

• Commitment to safety and attention to detail including lock-out/tag-out, PPE use, and hazard recognition

Preferred:

• Technical certification in equipment maintenance or hydraulic/mechanical systems

• Familiarity with D.H. Griffin equipment and operational standards

• CDL or forklift certification a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds

• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in varying outdoor or shop environments

• Comfortable working around moving machinery and loud noise levels

Working Conditions:

• Shop-based and outdoor-based working environments with potential exposure to oil, grease, dust, and noise

• Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, heavy machinery, and construction conditions

• May require overtime hours or emergency repairs
