Laser Programmer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laser Programmer to join our manufacturing plant team. The Laser Programmer will be responsible for programming and operating computer- controlled laser cutting, engraving, or welding machines to meet production requirements with high precision and efficiency. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of materials while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create computer programs for laser machines based on engineering drawings, specifications, or production requirements.
- Select appropriate laser parameters, including power, speed, and focal length, for various materials and thicknesses.
- Perform machine setup and calibration to ensure precise alignment and accuracy of the laser beam.
- Operate and monitor laser machines during production runs to ensure optimal performance and adherence to programmed paths.
- Inspect finished products for quality and make necessary adjustments to the program as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and production supervisors to optimize processes and improve production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to laser programming, machine performance, or material processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular maintenance of laser machines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in laser technology and programming techniques to enhance skills and knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidate must have some or all of the following Educational/Technical requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in laser technology or related fields is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Laser Programmer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and laser programming software (e.g., G-code).
- Strong understanding of laser technology, including different laser types and their applications.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Detail-oriented with excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in setting up and calibrating laser machines for precise material processing.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other team members.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight production schedules.
