ER RN Job Details – Asheville, NC Healthcare Jobs

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Setting: Emergency Department (Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nurse Contract)
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1640–$1680/week
• Unit Size: 101 beds
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (North Carolina RN jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse
• Experience in a Level II trauma center or high-volume emergency department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
• Professionalism and commitment to patient experience (AIDET, respectful behavior, patient updates)
• Navy scrubs required

ER RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy emergency department
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including techs, unit clerks, and nursing staff
• Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation and manage equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed (no floating outside the ED)
• Maintain patient safety and satisfaction by following established protocols and updating patient boards
• Participate in ongoing nursing education and adhere to hospital/unit policies and guidelines
