Mobile Software Engineer

## About the role

Koda North is hiring Mobile Software Engineers to design, develop, and improve modern mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.

This role is focused on building high-quality mobile experiences, integrating mobile applications with backend systems, improving performance, and delivering reliable products used by real customers.

**Important: This position is open only to candidates currently located in Europe or eligible European locations. Applications from candidates outside Europe will not be considered.**

The ideal candidate has practical mobile development experience, strong software engineering fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a remote engineering team. Strong English communication skills are required for collaboration with engineers, designers, product teams, and stakeholders.

## Responsibilities

Build and maintain production mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms

Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable mobile application features

Create intuitive user interfaces with strong focus on usability and performance

Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs, backend services, and third-party platforms

Implement application logic, navigation, state management, and data handling workflows

Optimize mobile applications for speed, reliability, battery usage, and user experience

Debug issues across mobile devices, operating systems, application code, and integrations

Translate product requirements and designs into polished mobile experiences

Implement secure authentication, data storage, and application workflows

Test applications across different devices, screen sizes, and operating system versions

Support mobile releases, updates, and production issue resolution

Follow engineering standards including Git, code reviews, testing, and documentation

Collaborate with backend engineers, frontend developers, designers, QA, and product teams

## Qualifications

2+ years of professional mobile application development experience

Experience building and maintaining real-world mobile applications

Strong understanding of mobile development principles, architecture, and best practices

Experience with mobile development technologies such as React Native, Flutter, Swift, or Kotlin

Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and backend services

Understanding of mobile UI/UX patterns and responsive application design

Experience handling application state, networking, local storage, and data synchronization

Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows

Understanding of mobile application publishing and release processes

Strong written and spoken English communication skills

Reliable ownership of assigned tasks from development through release

## Nice to have

Experience with React Native and TypeScript

Experience with Flutter and Dart

Experience with native iOS development using Swift or Android development using Kotlin

Experience building SaaS applications, customer-facing products, or business mobile applications

Experience with push notifications, deep linking, offline support, and background processing

Experience integrating payment systems, maps, analytics, authentication, or third-party SDKs

Experience with Firebase, AWS, CI/CD, automated testing, or mobile deployment pipelines

Experience improving mobile performance, crash reporting, and application reliability

Experience with healthcare, healthtech, clinical workflows, or compliance-aware applications

Experience with secure data handling, encryption, authentication, and privacy-sensitive systems
