Our client, a growing advanced materials technology company, is seeking a full-time Application Engineer to work directly with customers on protective coating solutions. This customer-facing technical role is perfect for Applications Engineers, Process Engineers, Sales Engineers, Quality Engineers, Field Application Engineers (FAE), or Technical Sales Engineers ready to combine engineering skills with business impact.

Ideal Candidates Include:

• Applications Engineers or Field Application Engineers (FAE) looking to work with advanced coating technology.
• Process Engineers ready to apply manufacturing expertise, process optimization, and production knowledge in a customer-facing role.
• Sales Engineers or Technical Sales Engineers wanting deeper technical consultation work with strong client relationships.
• Quality Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, or QA Engineers interested in pre-sales support and technical problem-solving.
• Manufacturing Engineers with cross-functional collaboration experience.
• Engineers comfortable translating technical concepts into business solutions for customers.
• Quick learners who don't need coating expertise upfront (training provided).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical consultation to prospects and customers throughout the sales cycle.
• Analyze customer products and manufacturing processes to recommend design improvements and process optimization.
• Develop and deliver technical proposals, presentations, and training sessions.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide engineering solutions.
• Collaborate across sales, engineering, product management, and operations teams.
• Build and maintain technical relationships with key customer stakeholders.
• Apply quality assurance principles and process documentation standards.
• Support pre-sales activities and ensure successful customer implementation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field).
• 2-5 years in applications engineering, process engineering, sales engineering, quality engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, or technical customer-facing roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Up to 10% travel required.

Preferred Experience:

• Background as Applications Engineer, Field Application Engineer, Process Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Quality Engineer, or QA Engineer.
• High-volume manufacturing, automation equipment, production processes, or manufacturing operations.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems, or process improvement methodologies.
• Electronic components, devices, or technical products.
• CAD systems (SolidWorks (preferred), AutoCAD, or similar engineering design tools).
• Material science, coatings, surface treatments, or protective coating applications.
• ISO standards, compliance requirements, or quality assurance processes.
