PCU RN Job Details – Greenville, NC

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Location: Greenville, NC 27834 – North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Unit: Neurosciences IU Gen, Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/15/2025 – End: 12/16/2025)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact state license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, neuro, or step-down nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Must pass EKG exam during orientation and compliance process
• Proficient in reading and interpreting EKG strips
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• One professional reference from entire work history
• Must reside outside an 80-mile radius of Greenville, NC

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with acute neurological conditions, including stroke (ischemic, hemorrhagic, SAH), post neuro-surgical management, seizure management, multiple sclerosis, and Guillain-Barre syndrome
• Utilize advanced neuro nursing skills: NIHSS assessments, lumbar puncture assistance, arterial and central line management, tracheotomy care, lumbar drains, IV starts, peripheral and arterial blood draws
• Administer intravenous drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) and perform cardiac monitoring
• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 based on acuity
• Work 3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and comply with all hospital policies and clinical procedures
