Part‑Time Grounds Maintenance Technician – Blakeslee Air Force Recreation Area (Kure Beach)

20 Hours/Week • Outdoor Work • Steady, Independent Role

Work independently at Blakeslee Air Force Recreation Area in Kure Beach, helping keep the grounds clean, safe, and well‑maintained for visitors and military families. This part‑time role is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in maintaining large properties, and prefers working on their own without constant supervision. If you’re reliable, self‑motivated, and experienced with mowing, trimming, and edging, this position offers steady hours in a peaceful coastal environment.

A clean background check (no felonies, DUIs, or criminal record) is required for access to the property.

Responsibilities

• Mow large acreage and campground areas using commercial mowing equipment

• Perform weed trimming around buildings, signs, fences, and obstacles

• Edge sidewalks and walkways around facility buildings

• Maintain clean grounds by removing debris, trash, and fallen limbs

• Conduct basic equipment checks before and after use

• Work independently while meeting quality and safety standards

• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience with commercial mowing, weed trimming, and edging

• Ability to work independently and manage your own daily tasks

• Comfortable working outdoors in heat, rain, and coastal weather

• Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work

• Reliable transportation to and from the recreation area

• Professional, dependable, and self‑motivated

• Must pass a background check (no felonies, DUIs, or criminal record)

• Must have REAL ID identification and be legally authorized to work in the United States

Compensation: $22.84/hr
