We are a Christ centered Children’s Home looking for a Full Time Accountant in Black Mountain, NC. This position assists the VP of Finance with all things related to accounting for our Residential Care, Independent Living, and Foster Care Programs as well as Thrift Store, Café and West Campus Facility use. Requirements

REQUIRED

• Must maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a strong Christian witness in all interactions with youth, staff, donors, volunteers, and the general public so as to uphold Black Mountain Home's mission of Glorifying God by caring for children, youth, and families.
• Commit to pray regularly for the youth, staff, and ministry
• Familiarity with Excel
• Efficient and effective verbal and written communication
• Good planning, organizational and follow up skills
• An ability to enter information accurately at an average to above average speed
• The applicant should be ethical, honest, trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
• A desire to learn, help others and work steadily

PREFERRED

• Ability to use advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUPS, IF Statements, PIVOT Tables etc.)
• Accounting degree and/or previous related experience 
• Knowledge of debits and credits associated with chart of accounts and journal entries for various types of activity 
• Experience or education related to accounts payable
• Experience or education related to reconciling various general ledger and bank accounts
