As the Collision Body Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of shop operations, including production management, customer service, team leadership, and financial performance. You’ll work closely with technicians to run daily production, handle supplements, and ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Ensure the shop is fully operational during business hours. Prepare for the day, organize tasks, and address any issues proactively. Monitor financial health, control costs, and manage labor and resources effectively.Production Management:
Lead daily production meetings with technicians. Ensure teardowns are completed within 24–48 hours. Keep the production screen updated daily and strategically schedule work. Set and execute a weekly sales plan.Supplement Handling:
Manage all insurance supplements, including documentation, communication, and approvals to avoid delays and ensure accurate billing.Quality Control:
Implement and enforce strict quality control measures. Conduct regular inspections to ensure all repairs meet industry standards and customer expectations.Leadership & Team Building:
Inspire and lead your team with professionalism, courtesy, and responsiveness. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment. Conduct weekly board meetings and provide ongoing training and development.Customer Satisfaction:
Maintain high levels of customer service by keeping clients informed, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring timely, high-quality repairs.Communication & Organization:
Communicate clearly with staff and customers. Prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and minimize distractions to stay focused on daily goals.Problem Solving:
Quickly assess and resolve issues such as parts delays or customer complaints to maintain smooth operations.Accountability & Metrics:
Set clear performance goals and hold yourself and your team accountable. Track and meet weekly sales targets to support business growth.Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
Develop, implement, and enforce SOPs to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across all operations.Safety & Compliance:
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all industry regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with estimating systems (CCC One).
- Solid understanding of automotive repair processes.
- I-CAR certifications are a plus.
