Job Title: Project Manager - Optimization Greenfield Pay: $75.00-$85.00/hr Schedule: M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm Job Type: Contract (12+ months - extension based on performance) Industry: Pharmaceutical / Biotech Keywords: #ProjectManager #AsepticManufacturing #Greenfield #CapitalProjects #PharmaJobs A Project Manager role is open within the Optimization Greenfield Operations team supporting the Fill Finish Expansions program. This position focuses on aseptic pharmaceutical production and is responsible for identifying, mapping, and closing program gaps across cross-functional work packages. The Project Manager will coordinate execution schedules, manage interface agreements, and ensure alignment across all project stakeholders to prevent missed or neglected scope. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in greenfield start-up operations, aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing, and large capital project execution.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Explore, discover, map, and identify program gaps across cross-functional work packages.
- Develop remediation plans and establish anchor points to address identified gaps.
- Coordinate between work package areas and execution schedules.
- Identify, develop, and manage detailed interface agreements between central teams, local sites, vendors, and functional areas, including milestones and schedules.
- Create detailed project plans and business cases suitable for leadership presentation.
- Coordinate program-level and local stakeholders to support discovery efforts and close program gaps.
- Provide periodic project status updates, including risk identification, assessments, and mitigation plans.
- Collaborate extensively within the network to gather best practices and specifications for transfer to the local site.
- Monitor project progress and intervene as needed to resolve issues in collaboration with line managers and project personnel.
- Ensure installation, troubleshooting, qualification, and validation of buildings and equipment meet all defined project commitments.
- Lead and manage capital project execution in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Work with external design firms to support projects from conceptual design through execution.
- Maintain effective communication and alignment across multiple project teams.
- Manage major milestones, schedules, and monthly cost plans through the Clarity PEM process.
- Lead stakeholder management and communications with management, project teams, and supporting units.
- Support training activities for personnel supporting the project as required.
- Manage project change control processes to ensure scope, budget, and schedule adherence.
- Track project performance metrics and KPIs.
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties.
- Perform additional project-related responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor"s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in facility infrastructure and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Minimum of five (5) years of proven project or portfolio management experience with major capital projects.
- Advanced project management competencies gained through formal training or hands-on experience.
- Extensive knowledge of project management principles, including scheduling, risk, budget, and resource management.
- Ability to read and review design drawings (CAD) with basic understanding of P&ID, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of building systems and utility equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience leading cross-functional project teams.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive project outcomes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with greenfield pharmaceutical start-up operations.
- Experience managing aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal relationships.
- Solid understanding of GMP environments and regulatory expectations.
- Experience with Clarity PEM or similar project cost and schedule management systems.
