Job Description and Service Standards: Banquet Server.

Location: The Club at Longview.

Department: Food & Beverage.

Reports To: Food and Beverage Manager/Banquet Management.

The following reflects basic service standards and job description for a Banquet Server at The Club at Longview

Aims & Objectives:
Perform food and drink serving duties at meal periods and special events while interacting with guests in a positive, friendly, and efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare proper table, room, and drink set up for time of event/meeting, to include moving, rolling and lifting of tables and chairs.
• Greet customers upon their arrival in a friendly and professiona; manner.
• Serve beverages and food in appropriate order and in tune with the expectation of the banquet captain to ensure consistency throughout the event.
• Remove dishes as guests finish each meal or at the end of the function.
• Replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests to make sure we are exceeding guests expectations.
• Clear and clean tables in a prompt and efficient manner – clean/wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary.
• After banquet concludes, reset banquet room in accordance with the banquet captain’s specification to ensure the rooms are presentable for future functions.
• Complete any assigned duties as requested by Food & Beverage Management Team.
• Attend any training or meetings held as requested by management.
• Willing and able to lift/push 30+lbs.
• Assist other departments when necessary while maintaining other departments’ standards.
• Take a proactive role in encouraging teamwork, cooperation, harmony, productivity and a positive attitude within the working environment.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Prior Banquet Experience is a plus!

The history of Longview dates back to the 1800s when it was first known as The Longview Black Jack Farm. In 1953, Mel Graham's father purchased a small portion of the property as an annex of the Graham Dairy Farm. Decades later, Mel started purchasing any land that attached to his Dad's small farm and eventually assembled over 1,000 acres. In 2001, Mel put the vision of The Club at Longview into action. As Jack Nicklaus stood on this property and looked at the gentle rolling hills with its pines and hardwoods, its creeks, ponds, and nature preserves, he said, "It's as if it was always meant to be the home of a great golf course." Two years later, on October 20, 2003, The Club at Longview officially opened! The old-world charm and architecture found throughout the Club and the Longview community is a direct result of Mel's travels throughout Europe. The architecture withstands the test of time and improves with age.
