HR Generalist
Job Summary
We are seeking an onsite HR Generalist for a contract opportunity in Tarboro, NC, supporting a manufacturing facility with approximately 250 employees. This Human Resources Generalist role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being visible on the floor, partnering with plant leadership, and serving as a trusted resource for employees and managers. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact in a fast-paced industrial environment by supporting employee relations, HR compliance, leave administration, investigations, and timekeeping processes. The work environment values responsive HR support, clear communication, teamwork, and practical problem-solving. Candidates who enjoy building relationships, supporting frontline teams, and helping leaders maintain a compliant and positive workplace will be well suited for this role. Key Responsibilities - Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and general HR support.- Manage employee relations matters, workplace investigations, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Partner with managers and plant leadership on HR policies, performance issues, and workforce-related concerns.
- Administer HR records, leave programs, FMLA, ADA, LOA processes, and related compliance requirements.
- Support timekeeping and HRIS activity, including UKG timekeeping processes.
- Maintain a visible onsite presence and help promote consistent communication across the facility. Compensation and Benefits - Pay: $20 to $22 per hour.
- Contract/temporary position through October with possibility of permanent hire.
- Location: Tarboro, NC.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage employee relations, investigations, and HR documentation for a manufacturing workforce.- Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and LOA processes.
- Support HR compliance, policy interpretation, and manager guidance.
- Maintain HR records and support timekeeping processes using HRIS/timekeeping systems. - 3+ years of human resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance requirements, FMLA, ADA, and leave administration.
- Experience using HRIS or timekeeping systems, with UKG experience strongly relevant.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build trust with employees and leaders while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Comfortable working onsite in a plant environment and maintaining a regular presence with employees and supervisors. Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in a union environment.
- UKG timekeeping experience.
- Prior HR experience supporting hourly employees in a manufacturing, production, or industrial setting.
