Job Summary
The Production Planning Planner II supports and optimizes Supply Chain operations, including Planning/Scheduling, Procurement, Packaging/Warehousing, and Materials Controls. This role aims to maximize the utilization of equipment, materials, and manpower to deliver premium customer service. The position also involves participation in cross-functional projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency, supply chain operations, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing and Supply Chain operations using strong system skills and business knowledge to identify improvement opportunities and lead related projects.
- Develop reports and data analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in new system implementation projects within the Supply Chain department.
- Support packaging and warehouse operations, including process improvements in shipping, receiving, and storage optimization.
- Create, modify, and support business reports and queries for Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functional teams.
- Ensure safety compliance by maintaining a safe work environment and proactively reporting unsafe conditions.
- Benchmark and analyze internal and external processes to maximize efficiency of functions and systems.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (minimum).
- Proven analytical and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with various functions and organizational levels.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access.
- Willingness to work 6 AM – 2 PM (hours may vary based on business needs).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in supply chain roles.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or APICS certification preferred.
- Training or certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred).
- Understanding of cable products, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments.
- Change champion with adaptability and flexibility.
- Demonstrated commitment and drive.
