Part-Time Nanny in the Olde Providence South Neighborhood for Two Children, Ages 2.5 and 4.5 Years Old

Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in the Olde Providence South neighborhood in finding a Part-Time Nanny for their two children, ages 2.5 and 4.5 years old. The nanny would typically be needed Monday – Thursday, 1:00pm – 5:00pm.

The best nanny for this family would be reliable, honest, and conscientious. Each day, the nanny would be responsible for picking the children up from pre-school (about 5 minutes away from the house), then supervising the children on the preschool playground after school (weather permitting) for about 30 minutes, then taking the children home. After the nanny arrives home with the children, they will need a snack, and their bookbags and lunchboxes will need to be cleaned and ready for the next day. The 2.5-year-old usually naps from 1:30pm - 3:00 pm, and the 4.5-year-old no longer takes a nap.

When at home, the children like to stay active and engaged in age-appropriate activities. Some of their favorite things to play are bouncing on the trampoline, riding bikes, doing arts and crafts, baking, and playing sports. They love playing Basketball, Tennis, Baseball, and Lacrosse in the backyard. The children have high energy, so being energetic, playing sports with the children, and keeping up with their energy levels is essential. There is a pool in the backyard, the nanny must be able to swim, and there must always be an adult with their eyes on the children at all times outside. Their 2.5-year-old has some stranger danger when warming up to people, so a nanny who is warm, patient, and comforting with the 2.5-year-old would be best.

Nanny Responsibilities Include:

• Meeting the daily scheduling needs of the children

• Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level

• Playing with the children both inside and outside the home

• Doing hands-on learning activities with the children

• Ensuring that they are ready for the next day of pre-school

Household Duties Include (Children are first priority):

• Children’s meal prep / feeding them snacks

• Cleaning up after the children

• Cleaning lunch boxes after school

• Tidying up and organizing toys at the end of each day

Pets:

The family has one dog. He is a hound dog mix, about 60 pounds. He is eager when he first meets someone, or they arrive at the home, and then he reverts to minding his own business. There will be no pet care responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of professional nanny experience

• College degree or equivalent experience

• Professional resume

• Complete online application

• Pass a national background check, including a driving record check

• Valid driver’s license

• Safe and reliable vehicle

• Minimum of three professional references

• Non-smoking/vaping

• CPR and First Aid Certified

• Must be able to swim, as the family has a pool in their backyard, and neither children know how to swim independently. They have taken lessons and will continue with lessons. An adult must always be present in the backyard, and the family has child locks/alarms on the exterior doors.

• Nanny should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus

Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:

• This position starts February 2nd, 2026

• Legal pay is offered at an hourly rate of $25 - $27 an hour, negotiable depending on experience

• Continued pay while the family is away
