Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (07:00 - 16:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submission Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience in Scrubbing and good ENT experience - Skills in Endoscopic sinus procedures, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Laryngectomy, Mastoidectomy, Tympanoplasty, Stapedectomy, Radical neck dissection, Scrub ENT Surgery, Septoplasty, Rhinoplasty, Tonsillectomy, Adenoidectomy, and Tracheostomy - Pediatric skills in Myringotomy with tubes, Scrub Pediatric ENT Surgery, and Tonsillectomy for adenoids - Emergency Management skills in Code Response, Fire Safety, Latex Allergy, and Malignant Hyperthermia - Knowledge in Specimen Handling, labeling, and Universal Protocol Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may lead to cancellation of the contract. Unit will accept first-time travelers if the RN has scrubbing experience and good ENT experience. Local candidates are accepted. Work setting focuses on Ambulatory OR with a patient age group including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Unit specifics include a fast-paced ASC specializing in ENT and Eye with 6 operating rooms. Average daily census is 45 with 6 rooms available. Position requires an RN to scrub during various ENT and Eye procedures, demonstrating proficiency in related skills. Expected patient diagnoses include ENT surgeries, cataracts, ocular plastics, and head and neck procedures. Interdisciplinary support is provided by interpretation services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. Knowledge in Infection Control and Laser Safety is preferred. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as per job requirements. Required skills include the use of electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources. Must work 2 of 3 major holidays with a maximum of 7 days RTO pre-approved (no holidays). Candidates must be willing to complete modules as part of the onboarding process.
