ER RN Travel Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Emergency Department – Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (9:00 AM – 9:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1640 - $1680
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year as an ER RN
• Experience in a Level II trauma center or high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (must be current before start date)
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork skills and flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
• Ability to coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to colleagues
• Professionalism and dedication to delivering excellent patient care and experience

ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations
• Manage patient ratios typically 4:1 (may vary for ED behavioral holds)
• Operate clinical equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR
• Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and internal patient processing
• Float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed
• Adhere to AIDET communication standards and update patient boards throughout visits
• Comply with hospital policies and wear required navy scrubs
• Demonstrate respectful, professional behavior and contribute to a positive, multicultural healthcare team environment
