Engineering Assistant
A Pineville, NC based ophthalmic lens company is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Engineering Assistant to support the Vision Repair team. This role focuses on team collaboration, reviewing and interpreting mechanical drawings and equipment specifications, supporting repair operations, and ensuring a seamless customer experience from order intake through completion. This role is aligned for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and hands-on operational support in a smaller manufacturing environment

Responsibilities:
• Review and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment specifications
• Assemble materials for service jobs and create accurate bills of materials
• Assist with equipment testing and quality checks
• Process orders, receive equipment, coordinate outsourced repairs, track repair progress
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors
• Resolve customer issues, vendor errors, and shipping discrepancies promptly
• Handle incoming customer calls and inquiries
• Maintain accurate records of vendors and customers
• Enter and manage orders, POs, receipts, invoices, billings
• Tracking, updating parts and repairs within the inventory system • Connecting and collaborating across teams and groups
Qualifications: • 2-4 years of prior engineering coordination/assistant/technical support experience • Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical documents • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook • Some CAD knowledge/proficiency • Possesses ability to collaborate effectively
