Electromechanical Switchgear Assembler

What your second shift looks like

Based in Wendell, NC, you will join the 2nd Shift team (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) assembling the equipment that keeps facilities powered and protected. From low- and medium-voltage motor control centers to MV breakers and switchgear, you’ll build, fit, wire, and verify complex assemblies that ship to customers nationwide.

What you will build and do

• Assemble steel structures, sub-assemblies, and parts kits for low/medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
• Route and terminate control wiring and power cables; interconnect control wires per instructions.
• Interpret BOMs, layouts, and assembly drawings; perform basic wiring as directed.
• Use torque wrenches correctly and record required job transactions.
• Follow established processes and methods, while actively seeking improvements.
• Champion safety for yourself and your team; contribute as a dependable teammate.
• Take on other duties as assigned by supervision or management.

Schedule and pay

Shift Hours: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Hourly Rate: $19.00 + $1.00 Shift Differential

What you bring

• 1+ year of mechanical assembly experience or related mechanical trade experience.
• Ability to lift parts or sub-assemblies up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Fluent English communication skills (read, write, speak).
• Demonstrated track record of quality and productivity.
• Commitment to Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety policies and the Management System, with a drive to continually improve outcomes.

Preferred qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Forklift driving experience.
• SAP familiarity.
• Ability to identify mechanical parts and electrical components.
• Hands-on experience with standard hand and power tools (pneumatic and battery).
• Knowledge of torque wrenches and applied torque values.
• Comfort using a tape measure and other precision measuring tools.
