We are looking for an experienced accounting professional seeking contract / part-time work in the greater Brevard, NC area! This is a great opportunity if you are skilled in AP, bank reconciliations and like working in Excel. In addition - you are able to pick your hours/schedule (up to 25 hours per week) and can work both onsite and remotely if needed.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately input and code invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper departmental allocation.
• Handle payments and manage weekly check processing, including maintaining the check register.
• Assist with payroll preparation by verifying accuracy before submission to the payroll processor.
• Conduct weekly bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date.
• Update and maintain key spreadsheets in Excel, generating reports as needed.
• Maintain organized records and thoroughly review all reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Deliver consistent support to the accounting team with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.

Timeline: 8 weeks
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, with proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Solid understanding of bank reconciliations and invoice coding processes.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to update spreadsheets and create reports.
• Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) processes and general ledger systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy.
