Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced

As a Construction Materials Project Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina , you will play a critical role in managing and executing Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection projects. This position blends technical leadership with client collaboration, offering mentorship from senior leaders, the opportunity to manage diverse projects, and the chance to grow into the professional you aspire to be. What You'll Do:

  • Lead, manage, and execute Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects, including budgeting, scheduling, quality, and client engagement.
  • Mentor and supervise technicians and junior engineers while maintaining compliance with plans and specifications
  • Partner with clients to understand their goals, tailoring services to exceed expectations and foster long-term relationships.
  • Contribute to business development by cultivating local partnerships and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Develop and review complex project proposals, reports, and recommendations that reflect the industry's best practices and your expertise.
  • Represent S&ME proudly in the engineering and construction community through meetings and professional networking organizations (e.g., ASCE, AGC, ACEC)

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a similar engineering field
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in construction materials testing and special inspection
  • Engineering Certification (EIT) and on track to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the future
  • Experience or desire to lead and manage projects
  • A track record of business and technical writing success
  • Ability to travel to project sites and collaborate in the field as needed
