BIM/VDC Lead

Mission-Critical & Infrastructure Construction Projects

Position Overview

A growing construction and infrastructure organization is seeking a highly collaborative BIM/VDC Lead to support large-scale, technically complex projects. This role is responsible for leading digital coordination efforts and transforming design intent into coordinated, field-ready construction solutions that support successful project execution.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in BIM/VDC coordination, constructability review, clash detection, and multi-trade collaboration within commercial, industrial, or mission-critical environments. This individual will work closely with project management, field leadership, engineers, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure coordinated models align with real-world installation sequencing and construction requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead BIM/VDC coordination activities across multiple trades and building systems to ensure constructable, execution-ready models.
  • Identify and resolve clashes, interface conflicts, and constructability issues before impacting field production or project schedules.
  • Coordinate electrical power systems, structured cabling, telecommunications infrastructure, and integrated security systems across complex project environments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to align digital models with field installation methods and sequencing strategies.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings and design-assist sessions focused on system integration, installation feasibility, and execution readiness.
  • Support development and release of coordinated drawings, installation packages, layout deliverables, and sequencing plans for field operations.
  • Maintain model accuracy through RFIs, submittals, revisions, field redlines, as-builts, and scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure digital workflows support construction schedules, turnover milestones, operational readiness, and project delivery objectives.
  • Drive accountability and issue resolution during coordination meetings and ongoing project reviews.
  • Support seamless handoffs between preconstruction, engineering, and field operations teams.
Systems & Project Types

Projects may include:

  • Electrical power distribution, grounding, pathways, and lighting systems
  • Structured cabling, fiber infrastructure, DAS, telecommunications, and network systems
  • Access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems
  • Data centers, mission-critical facilities, and large-scale infrastructure environments
Qualifications
  • 5–8+ years of experience in BIM/VDC coordination, construction technology, or digital construction workflows
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, constructability, and field installation methods
  • Experience coordinating multi-trade systems within commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction environments
  • Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, AutoCAD, and related BIM/VDC platforms
  • Ability to convert design intent into coordinated, field-executable deliverables
  • Experience supporting design-build and/or design-assist delivery models preferred
  • Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, coordination workflows, and field revisions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across field, engineering, and subcontractor teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Experience supporting data center or high-availability infrastructure projects preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered
  • BIM/VDC certifications or related technical credentials are a plus
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Comprehensive benefits offerings
  • Professional development and technical growth opportunities
  • Long-term career advancement potential
  • Opportunity to work on highly visible, technically challenging projects
