Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Joint Commission accredited hospital in Wilson, NC, requiring at least 1.5 years of experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM on a 13-week contract
• Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit serving as Med/Surg overflow on a 22-bed floor
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post cardiac cath care
• Patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1
• Every other weekend requirement (12 hours)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required
• Equipment includes Welch Allyn V/S machines, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, and Baxter IV pumps
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Supervised by a Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred
• EKG interpretation skills strongly preferred
• Experience managing admissions and discharges preferred
• Basic cardiac drip knowledge preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• 294-bed Duke Lifepoint hospital, Joint Commission accredited, offering cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services
• Orientation is conducted bi-weekly
• Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any Lifepoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
• No artificial nails permitted; scrub color is not assigned
• Team-oriented and flexible personality is a strong fit for this unit
