• Job Title: Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens, Night Shift
• Location: Greensboro, North Carolina (27403)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Oncology (WLCH - 6E Inpatient Oncology)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / travel contract
• Start Date: August 26, 2025
• End Date: November 4, 2025
• Contract Duration: 10 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including rotating weekends and holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820 - $1870
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-6
• Floating: Required between all Cone Health campuses

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical Oncology RN experience (no first-time travelers)
• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license (North Carolina or compact state)
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and monitoring
• Experience with PCA pumps
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to other units/campuses as needed
• Compliance file must be completed by the Wednesday prior to start date
• Education must be verified through a third party (no diplomas from flagged institutions)
• Background check with no open cases
• Not accepting local candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greensboro, NC

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to oncology, sickle cell, and med-surg adult and geriatric patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage PCA pumps, and perform foley catheter management
• Care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including diabetes, COPD, asthma, cellulitis, pneumonia, and abdominal pain
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)
• Float as needed to other units or Cone Health campuses
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC EMR
• Adhere to all hospital policies, attendance, and compliance requirements
